Puma Underfeated Clyde Story

IT’S MORE THAN A SHOE,

it’s a story. It’s a story about the man who defined cool and the shoe that became iconic. It’s a story about the brand that first mixed performance and style and the trendsetters that became the voice of the street.
This is the next chapter in that story.

Walt “Clyde” Frazier

was the perfect mix of performance and style. On the court, he was dominant – seven-time all-star, two-time champion, named one of the 50 greatest players in league history. Off the court, he was a fashion renegade. He redefined street style with ease and artistry combining wide-brimmed hats, custom suits and PUMAs. As an icon, he inspired the personal expression of style on streets and courts everywhere. He was the definition of cool - a pillar of confidence and creativity.
This is the resurgence of cool.

THE FIRST
SIGNATURE SHOE

Customized for Walt Frazier in 1973, the Clyde was the first signature basketball shoe. Built on performance and style, it immediately became a mainstay on the court and on the street. As a statement shoe, it was part of the uniform for cultural artists – DJs, b-boys, musicians and graffiti artists. The diverse color palette allowed for personal expression. The bold formstrip became a synonymous with style. The gold signature on the side of every shoe added the final seal of credibility.
The gold signature is back. It’s time to make a statement again.

UNDFTD

is more than a store. It’s more than a brand. It’s a culture that stands in direct opposition to the status quo– espousing a desire to be different. Known around the world, the brainchild of Eddie Cruz and James Bond is at the forefront of individuality. Credible on the street and respected in fashion, UNDFTD is an unofficial voice of the next generation. A tradition rooted in the fundamental philosophy of sport, but inspired by style.

ULTIMATELY, IT’S A STORY

about style. The expressive style of an athlete and the street style of his signature shoe. The brand that originated sportlifestyle joining forces with an innovative culture grounded in sport and style.
In this story, the Clyde moves to the forefront. Straddling on-court performance and off-court fashion, a constant reminder of the values shared by Frazier, PUMA and UNDFTD. In the colors, the Formstrip and the stamp, the shoe has always represented individuality. As mainstream conformity encroaches, the Clyde stands alone as an instrument of personal expression.
This is our chance to lead a new movement.

THE IN-STORE EXPERIENCE

is meaningful. As a visual story told through lines and angles, it’s an opportunity to engage consumers with a clear message. Our story demands an in-store experience that combines fashion and street. Enter the work of Harry Allen, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary designer.
As an interior designer Mr. Allen achieved prominence in 1994 for his interior design of Moss, the design gallery in New York. He has created innovative, brand-specific work for a wide variety of clients. His store designs for Supreme and Union in LA set the bar for sportswear retail environments.
Mr. Allen will create an in store experience inspired by the very nature of this relationship. Premium. Clean. Classic. An understated cool. Just like Clyde.
